History of Singapore's currency

Did you know the current portrait of President Yusof Ishak currency we now see is the fourth series in our nation's history?
The Orchid notes is the first in the series.
The Bird series is the second in the series while the Ship series is the third.

c) Yen-Japan

f) Yuan-China
g)Pound-Britain

2. The year the different series were first pressed and released:
a) Orchid series - 1967
b) Bird series - 1974
c) Ship series - 1984

3.The 3 properties for an ideal currency note-

a) If the notes are very expensive to produce, then it not a good design.That is why we have to consider the cost of the security features that we design for the notes.

b) The notes must also be of the right size.If it is too big it won't fit into our wallets.If it is too small, we won't be able to show very much on it.

c) It is equally important that the notes can stand through rough handling. It may be accidentally washed or crumpled.It costs money to replace it with a new one.

4a. Which series do your parents and/or grandparents like most?

My mum likes the Orchid series.

4b. What is the reason?

Because it is special.
